In support of Plastic Free July, customers who purchase a coffee from participating Claremont Town Centre (CTC) cafés and hospitality businesses will receive a branded reusable coffee cup, while stocks last.

Mayor Peter Telford said initiatives like this are a great way to reduce landfill and improve the cleanliness of the town centre.

"The use of single-use packaging as the last option is a constructive way to reduce our impact on the environment," Mayor Telford said.

"Thank you to the cafés in our town centre who recognise that reusable cups are a practical way for customers to reduce their impact, not just in Plastic Free July, but beyond."

Participating businesses include:

  • Moose Café
  • Stand'In Room
  • Momos and More
  • The Claremont Hotel
  • The Baking Corner

Plastic Free July began in Australia in 2011 as a way to avoid single-use plastics and plastic waste.

It has become one of the most influential environmental campaigns across the globe with millions of people taking part every year.

The design of the coffee cups makes it perfect for everyday use, not just Plastic Free July.

You'll need to be quick to receive a reusable coffee cup when purchasing a coffee from participating CTC retailers this July as stock is strictly limited.
