The Town will be implementing the removal of all card payment surcharges from 1 October 2026.
Surcharge will no longer apply on credit cards, debit cards, including prepaid cards across Eftpos, Mastercard, Visa and other card networks. The change will be made for card payments made in person, online and via telephone.
The removal of card surcharge is a directive made by the Reserve Bank of Australia from their review of Merchant Card Payment Costs & Surcharging. For further information of their review please click here.
