The Capital Works Program has been developed to meet anticipated community infrastructure needs and the future development of the Town to align with the strategic plan, driven by population growth, requirements of the community and asset management. These works include footpath replacement, traffic management treatments and road re-sheeting works among other minor capital works.

Park Furniture and Shade Sail Installation - Mrs Herbert’s Park
The Town would like to advise that contractors will be removing the old plastic bench seat and picnic setting to the south of the playground and replacing it with new ones from Tuesday 20 October until Friday 23 October. These park furniture items will be placed on new concrete pad bases. Following this, on Monday 26 October contractors will be installing new shade sail poles for the playground into the sand pit area, with the shades being attached on Monday 2 November. Swing Set and Shade Sail Installation - Jean and John Mulder Park
The Town would like to advise that contractors will be removing the old swing set frame to the south of the main playground and replacing it with a new one on Thursday 22 October. On Friday 23 October, the sand pit beneath the swings will be topped up and during the week of 26 October, the new swings will be attached to the frame. Postponement of Road Resurfacing and Kerb Upgrade works - Gugeri Street
Road resurfacing and kerb upgrade work at Gugeri Street between Loch Street and Chancellor Street have been postponed due to unsuitable weather conditions. Alternative dates are being reviewed and a further update will be provided once a revised construction program has been confirmed. Pelican Roosting Post - Claremont Foreshore
The Town would like to advise that a pelican roosting post will be installed in the vicinity of the Jetty Road toilets close to the Claremont Foreshore during September 2026, contractor and weather permitting. Please see the below letter distributed to affected residents for more information.
Polyphagous Shot-Hole Borer (PSHB) Works
Town of Claremont Contractors will be inspecting selected trees identified in the Town for signs of PSHB. This work may include chemical application and injections, setting up traps for beetle population surveillance, and in some cases pruning. These measures are being taken to only remove a tree as a last resort and to have minimal impact on tree health by pruning only as required. This is important to maintain tree canopy in streets, parks and reserves which offers habitat to fauna and provides shade, leading to reduced urban heating.
