The Town of Claremont is celebrating the independent businesses that contribute to the character, vibrancy and economic vitality of the Claremont Town Centre ahead of WA Small Business Day on Saturday, 31 October.

With nearly 97 per cent of Western Australian businesses classified as small businesses, the day provides an opportunity to recognise the entrepreneurs, family businesses and independent operators who contribute to local communities and the State's economy.

Claremont's Town Centre is home to a diverse mix of established businesses, independent retailers, hospitality venues and emerging enterprises, offering residents and visitors a distinctive shopping and lifestyle experience.

Town of Claremont Mayor Peter Telford said small businesses played a vital role in creating a vibrant and successful Town Centre.

“Small businesses are the backbone of our local economy. They create jobs, support families and give Claremont its distinctive character," Mayor Telford said.

“Behind every independent business is someone who has invested their time, resources and energy into building something of value, not just for themselves, but for the wider community.

“Claremont's strength lies in the diversity of its businesses, from long-established family enterprises to innovative new operators.

“WA Small Business Day is an opportunity to recognise their contribution and remind everyone that choosing to shop locally helps keep our Town Centre vibrant, competitive and thriving," he added.

This year's featured Claremont businesses include:

  • Station St. Fitness – 2/26 St Quentin Avenue. A performance-based gym supporting physical and mental wellbeing.
  • Pressed Earth – 5/24 St Quentin Avenue. A Perth-based producer of premium cold-pressed juices using locally sourced seasonal ingredients.
  • Majestic Persian Carpets – 2A Bay View Terrace. An established specialist retailer offering distinctive carpets and interior design inspiration.
