About our Parks & Reserves

Claremont is a leafy suburb with attractive parks and gardens, providing a relaxed atmosphere for residents and visitors.

Please note: dogs must be kept on a leash at all times, unless otherwise specified.

Council Policy EN307 Use of Parks and Reserves provides guidance as to the use of the Town’s parks and reserves.

The Town is committed to providing residents with well-maintained parks and reserves for community-friendly recreational activities and gatherings. The Town’s parks can be used by residents and ratepayers for small private functions, without formal bookings, subject to the conditions below:

  • The group must not exceed 30 persons.
  • No alcohol is permitted.
  • No barriers, fencing, tents, marquees, large sporting equipment or other structures are permitted.
  • No active events such as bouncy castles, bubble soccer, laser tag or other similar activities are permitted.
  • No entertainment, PA systems and/or lighting are permitted.
  • No confetti, streamers and balloons are permitted.
  • No animals other than dogs are permitted.
  • All rubbish must be collected and disposed of. The area used must be left clean and tidy.

Please complete the following form if your event does not fall within the above conditions.

Businesses and Individuals must apply to use Town parks and reserves for purpose including animal training and recreation and fitness classes.

Other facilities available within the Town of Claremont which can be hired for other types of events are managed by the clubs operating from the relevant building:

Park/Reserve Vehicle Access

The Town, at its discretion, may approve vehicle access through its parks/reserves to adjacent private lots for construction or maintenance purposes. To ensure this access does not disadvantage other residents or park users, nor incur a cost to the Town, all applicants will be required to comply to ALL of the following requirements:

  • Complete an application form found here
  • pay all fees and charges as approved by Council (see application form for a listing of these).
  • provide a Public Liability Insurance Certificate of Currency (if applicable) to the value required by the Town to comply with all conditions of use issued by the Town.

With seven different activity locations within the booklet, the Nature Passport encourages children and families to play, create, imagine and look closer in the natural locations of the western suburbs.
