The Town of Claremont’s Youth Photography Competition is offering cash prizes for young people who are keen to get behind the lens and show us ‘what makes you happy’.
The competition is open to all young people aged 12-18 years who reside in and/or go to school in selected western suburbs local government areas.
Cash prizes are on offer for the winning entries across a range of categories, and judges will be looking for originality, image quality, and happiness when choosing the standouts.
Mayor Jock Barker spoke of the importance of youth engagement initiatives.
“The Town is always looking to provide opportunities for young people to get involved in the community, and this particular competition is a great way to spark creativity and motivate budding photographers,” Mayor Barker said.
“I’m looking forward to seeing what makes our young people happy and how they choose to capture this in their photos.”
Entries close at 5pm on Monday 20 May 2024.
Entrants must live or attend school in one of the following local government boundaries: Town of Cambridge, Town of Claremont, Town of Cottesloe, Town of Mosman Park, City of Nedlands, Shire of Peppermint Grove, and City of Subiaco.
