The Town of Claremont has been nominated at the National Awards for Local Government in the Creativity and Culture category, acknowledging the Town’s popular annual arts program.
The program provides a diverse mix of opportunities for social and economic development, including community events, the biennial Art Awards, mentoring opportunities, and Claremont’s public art trail.
The Town’s commitment to the arts through significant funding and the allocation of resources continues to successfully unite the Claremont and western suburbs community and provide artists, art lovers, and creatively minded people with the opportunity to pursue their passion for the arts in a variety of ways.
Mayor Jock Barker said the annual arts program is integral to the community.
“Our arts program is something of which I am extremely proud. The program allows residents and visitors the chance to pursue the arts in a number of ways, both consuming and creating,” he said.
“This commitment to creativity and culture is an important part of the connected and vibrant community that we have here in Claremont. There is always something to do and always a way to be involved.”
