Claremont is the family destination these school holidays, holding a Treasure Hunt within Claremont Town Centre.
Across two days in October (6th and 7th), the Claremont Town Centre will be transformed into a land of pirates in a quest to find the treasure, and the ship.
Mayor Jock Barker said he looked forward to welcoming families from Claremont and surrounding suburbs to explore the town centre.
“We want Claremont to be the destination for the October school holidays and provide fun activities accessible to all families,” Mayor Barker said.
The activation will provide support for local businesses who may be doing it tough, and also create a community event which we can all take part in.
Families will start by picking up a treasure map from Toyworld on Bay View Tce, and then collect stamps from participating businesses.
Once all stamps are collected, they will be directed to their final destination (Claremont Square) where they will aboard the pirate ship (bouncy castle) and collect their treasure (a lucky dip).
Plus, a little something for the parents. Complete the details on the map and be put into the draw to win a major prize including vouchers and/or products from Toyworld, Athletes Foot, Claremont Tableware, Advantage Pharmacy and Claremont Quarter worth $500.
The Claremont library are also be involved as one of the stops and will be hosting a craft station to make your own pirate hat.
Everyone is encouraged to dress up in their best pirate outfit.
