To manage the expected increase in traffic the Town of Claremont will implement temporary parking restrictions.
The Perth Royal Show is running from Saturday, 21 September to Saturday, 28 September 2024, at the Claremont Showgrounds.
There will be limited paid parking available at Rowe Park and Lake Claremont, off Elliot Road. Payment will be available via eftpos only.
Here’s a quick overview of the restrictions:
To manage the expected increase in traffic and ensure smooth access around the event, the Town of Claremont will implement temporary parking restrictions.
Key Changes:
- No Stopping Zones: Certain roads around the Showgrounds will have “No Stopping” restrictions to help alleviate traffic congestion.
- Lakeway Street Cul-de-Sac: The verge at the end of Lakeway Street will have 2-hour timed parking during the Royal Show. Parking is unrestricted outside of these event dates.
- Motteram Avenue and Elliot Road Verge: Parking will be restricted from 8 am to 8 pm every day, including Monday, 23 September (public holiday). If you need a temporary parking permit, please contact Rangerdept@claremont.wa.gov.au.
- Precinct Parking: For the duration of the Royal Show, precinct parking hours will be extended to 8 am - 8 pm on weekends and the public holiday Monday, 23 September. Residents with valid precinct parking permits can continue to use them, but please ensure they are displayed to avoid fines.
Please refer to this detailed map for an overview of the temporary parking restrictions.
Management of Street Verges:
As in previous years, residents of occupied and vacant land, can manage the Town’s verges during the Royal Show with the following options:
- Request No Stopping Sign: Requests for “No Stopping” sign for the verge, have now closed. Bunting can be installed on the verge at your expense. For grouped dwellings, consent from all owners is required for the request.
- Allow Verge Parking: You may choose to allow parking on the Town’s verge. Please note that the Town’s community safety team will not mediate disputes over verge parking payments.
