Following on from a partnership between Anglicare WA and the Town of Claremont, Lemon Tree, a pre-loved clothing boutique is set to open its doors once again in a new Claremont location on St Quentin Avenue.
Following on from a successful six-month partnership between Anglicare WA and the Town of Claremont earlier in 2021, Lemon Tree, a pre-loved clothing boutique is set to open its doors once again in a new exciting Claremont location on St Quentin Avenue.
Lemon Tree is a unique offering for the area and encourages more sustainable solutions to buying in 2021 and beyond. The store will showcase a large selection of high quality pre-loved clothing and shoes for men, women and children. Labels on offer include Gucci, Chanel, Camila, Golden Goose, Zimmerman, DKNY and alpha60. The store will also be a drop-off point for quality clothing, shoes and bags.
As well as securing designer pieces without the designer price tag, shoppers will also be helping the environment by diverting clothing from landfill. The pop-up store previously received 160kg of high-quality donations and sold 705kg of clothing and accessories, diverting 865kg’s in total from potential landfill, over the six-month pilot program.
Anglicare WA CEO Mark Glasson said the Lemon Tree boutique will again save thousands of dollars in unwanted quality clothing from landfill, whilst making a difference to people in need across WA.
“The Town of Claremont has been instrumental in embedding Anglicare WA in their community, whilst leading the way in providing sustainable retail options with social conscience,” he said.
“In line with Claremont’s sustainability plan, we’re thrilled to now have a permanent presence on St Quinton’s Avenue for our Lemon Tree boutique, following the overwhelming success of our Pop-Up model last summer.”
All proceeds from Lemon Tree will continue to go towards Anglicare WA programs including the Young Hearts Child Counselling Service. Young Hearts is a domestic violence counselling service for children, dedicated to breaking the cycle of family and domestic violence. $58,634 revenue was generated from the pop-up store over the course of the pilot program enabling 220 children, parents and caregivers to attend Young Hearts Child Counselling sessions. 130 of the 220 unique clients were new to the service.
Mayor Jock Barker said Lemon Tree had proven to deliver significant benefits to the WA community and that he was looking forward to seeing its success continue to grow in the new location.
“Sustainability is a core focus for the Town and we work closely with many organisations to ensure we are providing options to make sustainable choices in our day to day lives” Mayor Barker said.
“Lemon Tree is a great edition to the Claremont shopping experience and I am sure the community will be excited to hear the news of its return.”
“We are pleased to be able to partner with Anglicare WA on such a unique project and help to contribute towards the Young Hearts program.”
The store will be open for a minimum of 12 months and will also host several events and workshops during this time.
