Residents offered cheap plants for May

The Western Suburbs Regional Organisation of Councils (WESROC) have partnered with APACE Nursery once again to offer half price native plants for its residents.

During the month of May, western suburbs residents will be able to purchase up to 80 native plants for the subsidised price of just $1.75 each.

Town of Claremont Mayor Jock Barker said May was the perfect time for planting new flora in the garden before winter arrives.

“A lot of gardens have suffered over what was a very long and hot summer period, so this special is a great way to refresh your garden in time for its growth to be supported by the winter rains,” Mayor Barker said.

“We encourage all of our residents to consider establishing a native garden. It not only looks beautiful, but also saves water and provides a fantastic habitat for our local wildlife.”

Residents can visit Apace Nursery between their opening hours of 8am-2.30pm Monday-Friday and 8am-12pm on Saturday at 1 Johannah Street, North Fremantle.

The subsidy scheme is available while stocks last and is open to residents from the town of Claremont, Cambridge, Cottesloe and Mosman Park, the city of Nedlands and Subiaco and the Shire of Peppermint Grove.
