Claremont Town Centre will transform into a glowing wonderland as Luminous Street Festival hits Bay View Terrace in April.
Claremont Town Centre will again transform into a glowing wonderland as Luminous Street Festival (formerly Neon Night Trail) hits Bay View Terrace in April.
The Town will be bathed in light over two nights as a variety of light-based installations, interactive art, entertainment, and performances fill the main street and other pockets of the Claremont Town Centre.
Local eateries and venues will be open late on both nights, with some offering festival specials and extending their outdoor areas into Bay View Terrace, which will be closed to cars for the event.
The event will appeal to people of all ages with plenty of kids-based entertainment alongside installations from renowned local artists and a large variety of food and drink options.
Attendees will receive a map to guide them through the festival and have the opportunity to solve a riddle related to the installations to receive a tasty treat.
Mayor Jock Barker said the event is a great way to activate the Claremont Town Centre at night time.
“Luminous Street Festival brings the Town Centre alive as the sun goes down and it shines a spotlight on the fantastic businesses there, as well as local artists and entertainers,” Mayor Barker said.
“We can expect a great atmosphere with Bay View Terrace closed to vehicles and the same style of fun and engaging entertainment and installations as previous years. I’m looking forward to seeing a big crowd of all ages enjoying the event.”
Luminous Street Festival will take place on Friday 12 and Saturday 13 April from 5:30pm to 8:30pm. It is a free community event.
