Town of Claremont welcomes visitors from near and far to come and reminisce on childhood memories this festive season at The 12 Days of Christmas Window Artwalk in the Claremont Town Centre.
To celebrate the Christmas season, ten emerging and eminent Perth-based artists will transform twelve local shop windows into artistic impressions of Christmas nostalgia.
Town of Claremont Mayor Jock Barker said the project was a fantastic way to celebrate the end of the year, with artists working alongside local business to create jobs and support our economy.
“Each artwork is a fantastic interpretation of the artist’s impression of Christmas memories, and that traditional song that invokes those childhood memories of Christmas,” Mayor Barker said.
“It has been a challenging year for everyone, especially for business owners, so what better way to see off the end of the year with a celebration involving our local businesses.”
From a partridge in a pear tree to 12 drummers drumming; each participating shop window will feature a day of The 12 Days of Christmas.
Artworks range from mobile paper craft to embellished Fabergé-style eggs; digital prints to laser cut woodwork, each having their unique take on the memories of the 12 Days of Christmas.
“We hope the Window Artwalk will bring joy to our community and the many visitors we look forward to welcoming to Claremont over the Christmas period,” Mayor Barker said.
Artworks will be displayed in shop windows across the town centre including at Valentini Exclusive Shoes, Sana Boutique, Pronto Butcher, Monde Design, Cultstatus, La Lucca, The Lane Bookshop, Mosh and Jolly, Majestic Persian Carpets, Little Leisure, Dymocks Claremont and The Giving Tree.
The 12 Days of Christmas Window Artwalk guide is available from participating businesses in the Claremont Town Centre, and can be viewed until the end of December.
