After eight years as the Town's Chief Executive Officer, Liz Ledger has announced her departure.
Commencing in 2010, her 15 years in management and leadership roles have been marked by significant accomplishments.
Notably, the Town was recognised as the top local government in the MARKYT Community Scorecard in 2023.
For Liz, a highlight has been fostering opportunities for all staff and creating an environment where individuals can thrive and achieve their potential.
Under her leadership, the Town also underwent a major digital transformation, navigated the challenges of COVID-19 and redeveloped several community facilities, including the Freshwater Gallery and Mackenzie Pavillion, for the betterment of the community.
Mayor Jock Barker commented, “I have held senior positions in and been a director of major Australian organisations and Liz is the finest senior executive I have had the privilege of working alongside. I feel extremely proud of what this Town has achieved during this time. This ranges from building community connection, transparency and wellbeing to strengthening the Town’s financial capability.”
"Liz is an inspiring and capable leader, and she leaves this organisation in a strong position and with my best wishes."
Liz's tenure with the Town of Claremont will conclude mid-November, after which she will assume the role of Chief Executive Officer at the City of South Perth.
The recruitment process for the Town's new CEO will begin shortly.
