The recently refurbished building at 64 Bay View Terrace will soon become the Bay View Community Centre (BVCC), and the new home to the Town’s library services.
The centre, which is situated on the evergreen Claremont Park, is set to open its doors in October and will include the new Standin’ Room Café, a multi-purpose room, , plenty of free parking and, in the future, a community garden.
A central asset of the highly anticipated hub is the library, which in addition to housing library resources, will include:
- Six computers in a private study suite
- A separate children’s reading room
- An area for arts and craft, and
- A designated workshop space.
Mayor Jock Barker commented, “While the BVCC is a different shape and size to the former Claremont Library on Stirling Highway, it will still offer free programs and activities residents know and love plus some wonderful new amenities that the community can enjoy.”
In celebration of its official opening residents can go into the draw to win an e-scooter by sharing the announcement post of the library move which can be found on Instagram and Facebook.
The winner will be announced at the Open Day to be held at the BVCC on 06 October 2024 from 11am to 1pm. Find our more .
