October Update
Dear residents,
While the Town’s Precinct Structure Plan for the town centre was approved in September, regrettably this has not influenced the State Government’s decision to review the approval for the 19 storey high development poised for 22 St Quentin Avenue. This development will create 86 apartments plus some commercial floorspace and is expected to commence around mid-2025.
The Town will work with the developer to facilitate the best possible outcomes for businesses during this period of construction, but it is inevitable there will be disruption. The former library site is located adjacent to this development, and the pending construction would not have been conducive to this type of use.
Bay View Community Centre
The Bay View Community Centre has been a hive of activity since opening earlier this month. It was delightful to see so many people eager to recommence library borrowings and enjoy the onsite coffee shop. Plans include installation of a patio and water fountain, and in the new year, a garden / park space for the community to enjoy.
Celebrating Seniors
An exciting week of activities specifically designed to celebrate seniors is scheduled from 10–17 November, including new events such as High Tea with Sabrina Hahn and a Dancing Demonstration with Arthur Murray. Bookings are essential, head to our community events page for more information.
Claremont Artisan Markets
The inaugural Claremont Artisan Markets will be bumping in at Claremont Oval for a four part series starting Saturday 16 November. Starting at 3pm, experience a range of stalls showcasing the very best from WA art and craft persons, delicious food, and family-friendly fun.
Next Ordinary Council Meeting
The next Council meeting will be held on Tuesday 29 October. Information on council meetings can be found here.
