This month at the Claremont Museum's History in a Coffee Cup we are considering the differences between conserving versus restoring objects.
Come and learn about how conservation focuses on preserving objects for future research and display, while restoration comes from the love and dedication in having a complete piece.
To illustrate the beauty of restoration, Jaz Lawrence will demonstrate Kintsugi, the Japanese art of putting broken pottery pieces back together with gold. This 400-year-old technique celebrates the imperfections of objects, transforming them into beautiful pieces of art.
This is a free event however bookings are essential.
